Studies on the floral initiation of Xanthium Strumarium L. (II)

The experiments were made to ascertain whether the following materials work as incentives to the floral initiation of Xanthium Strumarium L. 1. Ozone, water extract of saffron, acetylene and KCN do not work to initiate the bud under the long-day treatment, nor do they work to inhibit the floral initiation under the short-day treatment. 2. The \u22floral initiating substance\u22, on which Hamner and Bonner reported, seems to be either insoluble in water or quite unstable even if it is soluble in it.次の諸物質がオナモミの花芽形成の誘因物質として作用するか否かについて実験した.1.オゾン,サフラン,アセチレン,KCN等は何れも花芽の形成誘因物質としての,または抑制物質としての作用は認められない.2.Hamner&Bonnerの言う花芽形成誘因物質は水中に溶出しないか,あるいは溶出してもきわめて不安定なもののようである
