As the first step to understand the general characteristics of flashing choked flow of initially subcooled liquid associated with flash-spinning process, the discharge of flashing choked flow of initially subcooled water through a converging nozzle has been investigated theoretically by using an isentropic, homogeneous, equilibrium (I. H. E.) model for two-phase flows. The dependence of the pressure from l to 10 [MPa], the temperature from 350 to 550 [K] and the subcooling from 0 to l00 [K] in the nozzle inlet on the critical mass velocity is indicated in a series of graphs and is discussed.
