A thermal neutral beam probe combined with a spectroscopic technique is numerically demonstrated to be available to the measurement of local electrondensity fluctuations in edge plasmas, although the proper correction of measured data is required in the hight-density region of edge plasma. Same results of the beam probe mounted on the Compact Helical System (CHS) are also described
