Generation of the field for activity by merging the university and regional communities : A review of concepts concerning \u22communities of practice\u22

Recently, the activity with different types of communities such as the university and region is active, as exemplified by the community development, the venture business, and the development of the innovative education programs. In this paper, based on the concepts concerning \u22communities of practice\u22, literature on \u22the developmental work research\u22, \u22change laboratory\u22, and \u22formative field work\u22 were reviewed to investigate the way how the field for activity is generated by two different communities, i.e., the university and regional communities which have different living world. These studies were analyzed by focusing on the way how others intervene in the practice intentionally and on the developmental transformations in the field for activity. Through the review, the following questions were raised: \u22For whom are these activities created?\u22, \u22Are the practice and activity experiments?\u22, and \u22How long should the researchers and practitioner be involved in the activity?\u22 Further research questions based on these questions were presented with the notion of \u22ways of participation.\u2
