This dissertation presents a structural evaluation of Concrete-Expanded Polystyrene (CEPS) sandwich panels for slab applications through the finite element analysis approach. It is based on the experimental work previously conducted at University of California, Irvine (UCI). These panels comprise of expanded polystyrene foam sandwiched between concrete-steel panels. This research uses structural software Strand7, which is a numerical approach based on finite element method, to predict the load deformation behaviour of the CEPS sandwich slab panels.
