A Study on Fathers\u27 Participation in Child-rearing : The Consciousness of Fathers\u27 Actions

I found out what actions were considered as fathers\u27 participation in surveys, studies, policy and magazines about child-rearing. From the result, I made a survey for fathers and mothers who bring up their little children. The following facts were made clear from the result of the survey. (1) Fathers considered the actions related to education, play and business as fathers\u27 participation in child-rearing. Except for bathing a little child, they didn\u27t consider the actions related to care as fathers\u27 participation in child-rearing. (2) Mothers considered the actions related to education, play and mothers\u27 assistance as fathers\u27 participation in child-rearing. Except for bathing a little child, they also didn\u27t consider the actions related to care as fathers\u27 participation in child-rearing. According to the result of analysis, fathers and mothers didn\u27t consider the actions related to care, which had been regarded as fathers\u27 participation before, as fathers\u27 participation in child-rearing. And the range of fathers\u27 participation was wider than the one that had been considered before. Then, when we study fathers\u27 participation in child-rearing, we have to measure the degree of fathers\u27 participation not with the indicator of mothers\u27 child-rearing but with the peculiar indicator of fathers\u27 child-rearing. And there was a difference between fathers and mothers in the view of fathers\u27 participation. The difference between fathers and mothers may make mothers\u27 dissatisfactions with fathers
