[EN] In this study we present the results obtained in simulation and control of a three-phase induction motor using MATLAB / Simulink. The analysis includes the study of the transient response of the MTI in open loop and in closed loop using two types of controllers: Direct Torque Control (DTC) and Scalar Control. The most relevant results of this work are obtained when the performance of each controller, whose main objective is to follow the desired speed profile, is assessed, attending to the dynamic responses of the rotor’s mechanical velocity, electromagnetic torque, rotor’s and stator’s magnetic flux and currents, as well as the excitation voltages.
