Bridges are critical elements of the transportation system whose loss can have serious social and economic consequences. To minimize the likelihood of these negative consequences, codes define the loads to be considered when designing a bridge. In this context, extraordinary actions such as earthquakes or floods have been studied in the past and are widely reflected in the bibliography and in current regulations.
