The development of the knowledge of the culture of books during the colonial period has gradually receiving interest for numerous investigators. So that this task is possible, the work from registry of the libraries and the archives is important. Through the instruments of consultation developed by those institutions, we can identify books of the authors in the past and also knowing intellectual facets such. This reflection analyzes the problematic ones that display east type of investigation in Mexico, to tie the importance of the biobibliografía with the history of the colonial libraries
