<p>As vertebrate embryos grow and develop into adults, their organs must acquire mass and mature tissue architecture to maintain proper homeostasis. While juvenile growth encompasses a significant portion of life, relatively little is known about how individual cells proliferate, with respect to one another, to orchestrate this final maturation.
