Abstract

[EN] Vitrification of early stage embryos (from pronucleus to 16-cell embryos) is still a challenge. These embryonic development stages show a high sensibility to rapid cooling rates, osmotic stress and the high concentrations of cryoprotectants required for the vitrification process. The aim of this work was to define a low toxicity vitrification solution containing ethylene glycol, dextran and sucrose as well as the carrier system for the cryoconservation of 8-16-cell rabbit embryos.
