Objetivo: O propósito desse trabalho é simular e analisar o desgaste do componente acetabular da artroplastia total do quadril conforme a angulação lateral e combinação de diferentes materiais de superfície articular. Material e Método: Utilizando a técnica computadorizada de simulação por elementos finitos estimou-se, quantitativamente, o desgaste da cúpula acetabular, variando sua inclinação lateral e constituição dos componentes acetabular e cabeça femoral. Resultados: Os valores do desgaste linear simulado do par polietileno / cromo-cobalto encontrados nas angulações de 30, 45 e 60 graus foram de 0,189 mm, 0,173 mm e 0,257 mm por ano, e os desgastes volumétricos foram de 30,853 mm3, 30, 966 mm3 e 47,413 mm3 por ano, respectivamente.
