Introduction: The osteoporosis is a skeletal disorder characterized by the compromising of the bone strength, that predisposes to an increase in the risk of fractures; it is, therefore, an important cause of morbidity, mortality and loss of the life quality among postmenopausal. The bisphosphonates, agents that inhibit the bone reabsorption mediated by the osteoclasts, constitute, at the present time, the first-line treatment for the postmenopausal osteoporosis.
