Objective: To survey and characterize the hearing six to 18 years, fitted with hearing aids and enrolled in school- polo of Alagoas in 2008. Method: The study population consisted of 150 students with hearing loss and hearing aids that have responded, as well as those responsible for research instrument. The instrument of data collection were a structural interview, based on Costa and Chiari (2006) which provides information on medical history and school of hearing impaired, which was completed by the parent and a student self –assessment questionnaire to Boscolo (2006) – which investigates the use of hearing aids or not and in what situation (home, school, and social) He uses and hear with hearing aid, which was answered by the student.
