Introduction: The use of unripe banana peel in wound care has been previously described, especially for oral administration. The indication for topical use requires further investigation. Objective: To evaluate the action of unripe banana (Musa sapientum) peel in the healing of surgical wounds in rats. Methods: The study was conducted with 120 rats, which were divided into two groups: the control group (gel without the active ingredient) and experimental group (4% unripe M. sapientum peel gel). The animals were anesthetized with ketamine and xylazine, a 4 x 4 cm surgical wound was created on the back of each animal, and the wound was covered with a primary dressing.
