Statistical analysis of biomedical data Today, the recording of the patient's status in multivariate data sets is a standard procedure in everydays clinical life. At the university hospital in Regensburg, the department of neurosurgery records different biomedical data sets in the clinical environment. The goal of this work is to reveal with the aid of statistical analysis methods connections in the data and to derive for this purpose new mathematical models and algorithms. Three different typs of analysis methods were used. Firstly the classical time series analysis to detect correlations and couplings in the time series. As a second method, the independent component analysis, is used to extract from a set of signals (>>2) the generating independent sources. Finally a modelling approach is used to reproduce the signals obtained in the neuromonitoring recordings. With the presented analysis technics, previous conjectures could be confirmed as well as new connections in the data revealed
