In this letter, two active integrated antenna (AIA) circuits employing an H-shaped patch antenna operating at 2.45 GHz are presented. In the first design a probe feed position on the antenna is found to give an input impedance of 50 at the fundamental frequency. For the second design a probe feed position is found to give the optimum impedance at the fundamental frequency. Hence the load matching network is eliminated. Each circuit achieved a measured power added efficiency (PAE) of over 67
