Statistics has important and interesting interfaces with agriculture including genetics and breeding of crop plants and animals. The paper discusses some of them with concrete applications to problems in agriculture and genetics. In particular, measuring change in agricultural surveys, partial dial Jel crosses useful in plant breeding, stochastic processes in population genetics and statistical prediction in animal breeding are discussed
