Background/Aims. The transcription factor nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kappa B) exerts a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of hepatic ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Caffeic acid phenyl ester (CAPE), a potent and specific NF-kappa B inhibitor, presents protective effects on I/R injury in some tissues. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of CAPE on hepatic I/R injury in rats. Materials and methods.
