An automatic synthesis process is described for wide-band matching of microwave amplifiers. Impedance-matching networks, yielding the required source and load impedances, are synthesised for maximum power transfer, for optimum noise performance or to achieve higher output power. The matching problem is solved in closed form also for conditionally stable devices
