The mission of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors. Despite the worsening security situation, UN agencies and partners continue to deliver assistance to people in need. In May WFP provided food assistance to 2.5 million people. Access of 2.4 million people to drinking water has been restored with UNICEF’s support. 1.7 million people have directly benefited from health interventions.
