Also, inamsuch as the committee is supposed“advise the Dean of Students upon all matters of general policy related to extr? curricular activities and student welfaren(3») as well as other areas of student life (4), it is inconcievable to me that no students sit on this committee 1 Thus, procedures should he implemented immediately to get student representation on this committee and that all students serving on it he given full voting priveidges* Section IV. Membership, Organization and Functions of the University Council A. Membership: 10 There shall he a University Council which shall consist of a) The President of the University, who. shall he Chairman (ex-officio) He commendation: The Chairman of the University Council shall he elected from and by its memhershii e) Members of the academic staff who hold the rank of Professor Comment: What is the justification for granting “full professors^ membership (as opposed to assistant, associate professors or even Instructors)? I would like to see this justification included in the By-Laws9 or membership he limited in numbers and equally divided between all academic ranks in the IjSTversity* f) Not more than five representatives elected annually by the academic Board* Comment: Are these 5 representatives to come from the full time teaching personnel of the university? If not, they should and, further, they should be elected by the faculty itself* g) Not more than ten additional members from outside the university may be invited by the Board of Trustees*., to serve upon the University Council*..M Add: These members, appointed from outside the univers: ’shall be ex-officio members
