THE STANDING COMMITTEES The President or his appointed representative is an ex-officio member of all committees other than those in which he is a designated member. The University Senate Functions: a. To formulate policies on “all-university*1 matters that involve areas of concern to more than one of the three councils. Specifically, this would include: 1." Formulation and review of the budget. Z• Formulation and review of personnel policies. b. To review policy recommendations of the three councils which report to it. c. To act upon questions of university calendar, committee structure and responsibility, or any administrative question referred to it by the president. d. To appoint ad hoc committees, and to request policy formulatinn of regular standing committees on questions or problems that need attention. * • e. To advise the president on matters in which he requests their counsel* * This, and perhaps others of the sub-committees may not be appointed in 1957-58. #* Appointed by and responsible to the President
