D Re uirancnts of Lcademic Probation Academic probation is not in any sense regarded as a punishment but is imposed in a genuine desire to help the student bring his academic perofr- .ikancc to a satisfactory level. Therefore, students on academic probation: a. Must reduce their full-time study load to no more than twelve hours of credit (part-•time; stu.dr,nts may take no more then six hours) during the probationary period. b. AU st obtain the grade points stipulated in the probation notification for the reduced load of thc probationary period. c. Must enroll in the non-credit courses especially designed to help probation students improve their academic performance. d. And, will not be permitted: 1. To take leadership in the organization of social activities (student parties, etc.); 2. to participate in varsity sports activities; 3. to take part in dramatic activities or publication activities, unless such ac Livities are in integral part of a class in which the student is enrolled; 4. to hold office in any student organization. E Adjusted Stud Pro .,ram for Freshmen Because of thc unusual adjustments which Freshmen students may face during their first semester, those having unusual difficulties may, without academic penalty and upon the recommendation of their counselors, get permission from the Student Standing Committee to drop one course and thus reduce their academic load. No student is allowed to make this special arrangement after the tenth week of the semester. F Social Conduct Rcouirement for Continuation Membership in the University pr. ccupposcs that students will assume certain duties and responsibilities as members of the Univcrsit community, and deport themselves according to such rules, rogulahions and procedures as exist or which ma,y be established by the University for all students.
