The study’s subject is the reading aloud and its influence on personal appropriation of literary texts in the first year of secondary education. The experimentation’s goal is to test on a class a reading aloud activity promoting subjective reading: in groups of 3 or 4 the pupils have to prepare a reading aloud, then to read in front of the others and with their classmates’ comments and their teacher’s questions the groups are asked to rework their reading. From this experimentation two questions arise: does a collective work of reading aloud promote personal appropriation of literary texts? does this activity include strong and weak readers?
