This study examines the efficiency of singing in high-school as a way to teach the pronunciation of the English language, compared with more classical phonological teaching methods. It also aims to measure whether singing has an impact on the student’s motivation to improve their English oral language skills. The theoretical framework of this research is the strong link between music and the musical quality of languages, which has been emphasized in the recent conclusions of several pronunciation specialists who are working on developing innovative pronunciation teaching methods based on singing and/or music for the EFL classroom.
