The Prologus to the Chronica mendosa et ridiculosa Sarracenorum and the Praefatio Roberti translatoris to Robert of Ketton’s Latin translation of the Qurʾan (Lex Mahumet pseudoprophete): A Translation and Brief Commentary

Bloomsbury Academic.] The two prolegomena translated here (from Latin to English) accompany, respectively, the twelfth-century English polymath Robert of Ketton's Chronica mendosa et ridiculosa Sarracenorum and Lex Mahumet pseudoprophete, this latter the first translation of the Qur'an into Latin, albeit the elevated, consciously complex, rather paraphrastic Latin of the twelfth century.
