There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand. In the centre of the great rotunda of the church is the Shrine of the Holy Sepulchre. The bulding, of a pink-coloured limestone known at Jerusalem as Santa Croce marble, is about twenty-four feet long and fifteen feet wide. The interior is divided into two chapels.
