"Longtime subject for my cameras, Jimmy Skinner at work some fifty kilometres from his then home, the bore keeper's hut at Urisino Bore. When not shearing, Jimmy was a professional kangaroo shooter, working at night from a 1928 converted Ford utility and pegging out his skins by daylight with 4-inch nails on nearby claypans. Originally a city boy from Newcastle, Jimmy went west after being demobbed from the Air Force. He married local Corner Country girl Dinah, daughter of the owners of Wanaaring Station on the Paroo river, close by the isolated town."--Description supplied by photographer
