Emigration to Western Australia.

Pamphlet intended to advertise the attractions of the colony to potential emigrants. Printed in Ireland with the single plate of two maps both signed by R. Jones, Queen St. Dublin. Within the text would be emigrants were encouraged to read the first (1836), second (1837) and third reports of the Western Australian Association, only the first two being published. The promotional efforts of the Association in trying to ease the acute labour shortage which was crippling expansion were not successful. The population grew by only 225 between 1834 and 1837 and only 209 emigrants arrived during 1838 and 1839 (Statistical register of Western Australia, 1900)
