Map of Asia and the Pacific Area, with the focus on Australasia, South East Asia and Oceania. The map shows in blue the main supply routes of the United Nations as well as the Axis Nations. Also shown in red, allowing for a corridor of 500 miles, is the bombing routes of the United Nations and the Axis Nations, depicting visually areas of heavy bombing. Many routes are labelled with the miles between and the time of travel. Some of the major routes are dated from 1942 to summer 1944 (assuming it is the northern hemisphere season).; Includes two joined hemispheres marked Land Hemisphere, and, Water Hemisphere, respectively.; Includes a b&w hemisphere displaying the Pacific Ocean.; "International boundaries. The boundaries shown upon this map are those recognised at the start of THE WORLD WAR II, September 1939".; Map is undated without the dating code used by the Hagstrom Company. The illustrations on the front panel shows an American marine coming ashore from a US landing craft. The United States did not enter World War II until Dec. 6, 1941 when the Japanese bombed their naval stronghold at Pearl Harbour, Hawaii. Also the advertisement for another Hogstrom war publication Invasion map of Europe clearly mentions D-Day which was June 6, 1945 and unknown to the public until after the event.
