Stanford's library map of Australasia [cartographic material] /

Additions to 1872. Map of Australia, New Guinea and New Zealand as well as Indonesia from eastern Borneo, Celebes, the Moluccas (or Spice Islands) down to the Sunda Islands and Timur (i.e. Timor). To the east of New Guinea it includes the Salomon [i.e. Solomon] Islands, Santa Cruz Island, New Hebrides [now Vanuatu] and New Caldedonia and the Loyalty Islands. Australia is drawn in the greatest detail, showing railways, roads, tracks and submarine telegraph lines and exploratory tracks as late as Stuart's Track 1862. The inset map shows British colonies as well as railways and steam ship communication between Great Britain and the colonies.
