"The primary mirror has been installed in the 3.9 metre (155-inch) Anglo-Australian telescope at the Siding Spring Observatory in Australia. This is the beginning of the commissioning stage of the telescope which will continue until the end of 1974. The $A16,000,000 telescope, in the Warrumbungle Ranges in northern New South Wales, will stand technologically among the most advanced of its kind.
