First a square encompasses the developmental region around the city of Canberra in the 1910s with another smaller square inside the larger and encompassing the city limits which extended only to Red Hill in the south in the 1910s. Two lines, one from the Cotter Dam and another from Mt. Stromlo converge into one line and terminate at Red Hill where there was a water reservoir built in 1914.
