Condition: Good.; Title devised by cataloguer based on compactus card.; Inscription "Australian Design for French Tapestry, Mrs Mimi Jaksie Berger, or Sydney, is a water colour artist whose monumental abstract paintings have won 75 Australian awards and are included in major collections. The Aubusson factory in France is using one of her designs for a four square metre tapestry, now in production. Born in Belgrade and trained at the Pec' Institute of Art in Yugoslavia, she has concentrated on water colours since 1967 and has held 10 one-man exhibitions in Australia. She arrived in Australia in 1959. Critics consistently praise her work and unusual technique. Her paintings are on cartridge paper. She does not use an easel, but paints on a flat surface, usually in her garden, which is her colour inspiration Mimi Jaksie Berger, abstract colour artist.
