Dinner party at Koorabri, Brindabella, 31 December, 1957 [picture]

Bluett." New Years do - 7.00 p.m. Guests Mr & Mrs John Bluett & Beverley. Menu: Roast beef, spag, soup, 2 sweets - drinks as required. Party broke up at 10 pm - big wash up - 'The Chef' not happy. bed 11.30 pm." - extract from Frank Hague's diary.Ted Impey provided the following information: "The chef was John Impey (my father). The washer uppers would have been Frank Hague and Jock Rossell with assistance from Gordon Short. As with these special dinners at Koorabri and also being New Years Eve there would have been lilberal quantities of scotch whiskey, beer, sherry, gin and brandy consumed. These specific drinks are listed in the final diary entry (the reconciliation page) for this particular trip to Koorabri. The trip started in Sydney at 5.45 am on Friday the 27th of December 1957 and concluded when the party arrived back in Sydney at 8:00 pm on Wednesday the 8th of January 1958."
