International audienceThe aquatic fauna that lives in the karstic systems related to the Cèze River canyon was studied in two habitats (6 caves and 4 springs) together with the hyporheic fauna of the river (fauna living inside sediment interstices). The karstic fauna was poorly diversified, but probably under-estimate. The spatial heterogeneity was high between caves, between habitats (caves versus springs) and between micro-habitats inside a single cave. At the scale of the micro-habitat, the clay was more densely populated possibly because it represents at the same time a habitat for bioturbators and a source of food.
