While opposing epic drama to "Aristotle's" drama and distinguishing two of its types (conditional metaphoric and lifelike metonymic) the author of the article thoroughly analyses the means of epic drama in the plays by Mayakovsky "Mystery-bouffe" and by Tretyakov "Roar, China!" (using another's plot, building the motives etc.). Underlining the intention of epic drama to activate of the audience's consciousness the author of the article considers it to be possible to define it as intellectual drama
