A chart of part of the interior of New South Wales [cartographic material] /

Using the base map of John Oxley published in 1825, Allan Cunningham created this manuscript map making his annotations between 1827 and 1832 on both sides of the 1825 base map. Those on the upper part of the map refer primarily to the course of the Condamine River as well as the Dumaresqu River [later recognised as the early part of the Darling River where it arises in south east Queensland]. He shows that the Castlereagh River on the map connects to the Darling River, which in turn connects with the Dumaresqu River and the Gwydir River. The lower sheet centred on New South Wales contains much fewer notes, with some reference to the Murrumbidgee River. His notes also make comments on Thomas Mitchell's recent discoveries in north east New South Wales.
