Scenarios of climate changes forecast an increase in frequency and intensity of droughts, related to an increase of global temperatures and changes in rainfall distribution. Growth of forest trees highly depends on water availability and will be significantly impacted by these changes. The understanding of the impact of genetic and environmental factors on the growth dynamics is a major challenge to ensure production levels of future planted forests.
