Natural regeneration phase is thus the key step of stand renewal in order to maintain its genetic diversity. Its success highly depends on seed production. This study focuses on the impact of structure of reproductive stand at different spatial scales on gene flow during natural regeneration of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.). We identify main components of heterogeneity of seed production at stand scale. Moreover our results demonstrate the importance of isolation at landscape level to evaluate seed production potential of management units.
