Diplôme : Dr. Ing.In the context of sustainable agriculture, nitrogen fertilization must be managed with great accuracy to reach various objectives such as improved crop quality and yield and also the preservation of environment. To achieve these goals, nitrogen fertilization must fit crop demand closely and the cropping system has to be designed to reduce nitrogen loss either in nitrate or gaseous forms. This requires better knowledge of in situ soil net nitrogen mineralization. This work has two mains objectives: (i) quantify the soil organic nitrogen mineralization dynamics for one year in field conditions and (ii) explain and forecast this in situ mineralization for a wide range of pedoclimates and arable cropping systems in France.
