The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the potential of the multiple-effect desalination process coupled with renewable energy technologies to ensure the availability fresh water with at low-cost and low environmental impact as well as to seek different ways and possibilities to make this process more competitive from an economic, technical and environmental point of view.
