Civil engineering structures are constantly subjected to desaturation/re-saturation processes depending on the surrounding conditions. This is particularly the case when it comes to concrete structures for the deep geological storage of radioactive waste. It is fundamental to understand the water transfer phenomena that occur during these water rebalancing phases to assess the sustainability of these structures.
