The abstract nature of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) creates unique issues for IT practitioners and non-practitioners as they manage project uncertainty and its associated risk. Organisations are often driven by the need to acquire the latest technology without assessing potential risks, often believing the technology will be able to evolve to fit their user requirements.
