The paper explores the causes relevant to corporate social responsibility in preserving a healthy environment that may prevent the industry sustaining its global competitiveness, while exploring the development of environmental ethics and social responsibility within the corporate governance framework. In the construction industry, large companies have communication problems with their community. Although the organisations state in their vision the determination to preserve a healthy environment, they do not appear to be interested to know what the stakeholders perceive such determination to be.
