This special issue of JPET gathers texts which were presented at a conference held in Paris on June 7 and 8, 2010. The conference took place at the Collège de France and was organized jointly by the authors of the present introduction, who were both connected this year with this institution, the first one, Roger Guesnerie, as holder of the permanent chair "Théorie Economique et Organisation Sociale" and the second, Nicholas Stern, as the holder of the annual chair 2010, "Développement Durable." The conference was entitled "Managing Climate Change" and gathered presentations of 12 invited papers1 together with four shorter papers
