As part of a forum entitled Design on Film, twenty-two scholars, practitioners and curators were asked to suggest a film that "every design professional should know". D. J. Huppatz (a lecturer in the Faculty of Design at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia) chose "Fa yeung nin wa" ("In The Mood for Love"). The film may ultimately be a cinematic essay on nostalgia. The intricate recreation of 1960s Hong Kong - the clothes, hairstyles, furniture, household appliances and interior decor - is crucial in shaping In the Mood for Love's nostalgic ambiance
