Traces the beginnings of the NUWM under the auspices of the Communist Party and looks at its philosophy and policies throughout the period. Outlines the policy and establishment of organisations by the trade unions during the period. Discusses the origins of the NUU and finally looks at the fundamental weaknesses of both the NUWM and the NUU
