To comply with the demand of the international aid agencies, the government of Bangladesh is trying to develop participatory location government to support overall good governance for effective development of aid assisted projects. However various donors are concerned that this participation is not effective. This research has been conducted on Bangladesh local governance to find why this may be the case. Part of this study focused on how people's participation matters to the stakeholders of rural development projects in the country.
